Literally meaning “place of the gods”, the city is also known as the City of Sunshine, and gets more than 8 hours of sunshine per day on average throughout the year.
Day 01 Lhasa – Tsedang By Road 100 kms / 01 hrs 30 min appx.
Arrive Lhasa from Kathmandu / Chengdu. On arrival Lhasa meet-assist at airport and transfer to Tsedang. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 Tsedang
After breakfast, visit to Yumbulakhang & Chamdrok temple.
Yumbulakhang: Yumbulakhang the first palace for the first king in Tibetan history, is 15KM away from Tsedang town. The mountain slope palace was originally built in the second century B.C, but the replica was rebuilt in the 1980s. Built in the 7 th century by the king Sontsan Gambu.
Chamdrok: Chamdrok is one of the oldest temples in Tibet, 4KM away from the Tsedang hotel.
Later back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Tsedang – Lhasa By Road 130 kms / 05 hrs appx.
After breakfast, proceed to Lhasa. Enrooted visit Samey Monastery.
Samey Monastery: The Samey Monastery is at the foot of Mt. Haikus, on the north bank of the Wyalusing River in Jialing county. Being the 1st monastery, belongs to the Nyingma and Sakkara Sects., was built in 761. The 5th Tobu King Chi song Doosan sent envoys to Kashmir and India to invite famous lamas to teach Buddhism in Tibet. It is said that the monastery was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt three hundred years as the residence of the 6th Dalai Lama. Finally, it was completed by Rating Rinpoche. The monastery had been combined the Chinese, Tibetan and Indian styles, in the center of the monastery is a big square 3-storey hall with a floor space of over 8,900 square meters.
After visit drive to Lhasa. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 Lhasa
After breakfast, city tour of Lhasa visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor.
Potala Palace: Potala was the winter palace of the Dalai lama, which was originally built in the 7th century by the king Stones Campo and rebuilt to the present size by the 5th Dalai lama in the 17th century. Built in 1416 by Tsonga PA’s disciple—Jamyang-choje.
Jokhang Temple: Jokhang Temple one of the oldest temples in Tibet, was built in the 7thcentury by the 33rdking—Sontsanganbu.
Barkhor: Barkhor is the middle pilgrimage circuit around Jokhang Temple.
Later back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05 Lhasa
After breakfast, city tour of Lhasa visits Drepung Monastery and Norbulinka Palace, Sera Monastery.
Drepung Monastery: Draping Monastery is the biggest Gelugpa monastery in the west suburb of Lhasa.Built in the mid-18th century by the 7th Dalailama.
Norbulinka: Norbulinka the Jewel Park was the Dalai lama’s summer palace, it covers 100 acres with palaces, pavilions and a zoo.
Sera Monastery: Sera is the second biggest Gelupa Monastery in the north suburb of Lhasa, which was built in 1419 by Tsonga PA’s disciple—Skyeys. Situated at the heart of the oldest section of the Lhasa city.
Later back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Depart Lhasa By Flight
Drive to airport and catch flight for Kathmandu.
