Antananarivo

Antananarivo is the capital city of Madagascar, in the island’s Central Highlands. Overlooking the city, the Rova of Antananarivo palace complex was the center of the Merina kingdom from the 17th century. It features wooden houses and royal tombs. The pink baroque Andafiavaratra Palace sits in the nearby Haute Ville neighborhood. In the city center, heart-shaped Lake Anosy is ringed by jacaranda trees.

Day 01 Arrive Antananarivo
Arrival at Ivato international airport meet assist and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Antananarivo – Maroantsetra (By Flight)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Maroantsetra. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 Maroantsetra – Masoala (By Cruise)
After breakfast, transfer to the port and transfer by boat to Masoala. Then 3 hours walk in the primary forest to see reptiles, birds, lemurs and orchids. Relax and swim in a river. Stay at the ecolodge.

Day 04 Masoala
After breakfast, morning wildlife watching (in search of the Helmet vanga and Vari lemurs) during 3 hours. Then visit of a typical village to see plantations of vanilla , cloves and coffee. Stay at the ecolodge.

Day 05 Masoala
After breakfast, another day on Masoala, a guide is there and you can make another walk in the forest, or just stay on the beach and perhaps go snorkelling in the underwater reserve. Overnight at the ecolodge.

Day 06 Masoala – Nosy Mangabe – Maroantsetra (By Cruise)
After breakfast, transfer by boat to the small island Nosy Mangabe in the bay of Antongil, which is a nature reserve. A botanical guided walk there, then by boat back to Maroantsetra. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 Maroantsetra – Antananarivo (By Flight)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Antananarivo. Transfer to the city. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08 Depart Antananarivo
In the morning, excursion to Ambohimanga – a UNESCO World heritage site: a King‘s palace built on the top of the hill covered with forests. In the afternoon, back to Tana and visit of a Handicraft Market. At the end of the afternoon, transfer to the hotel and day use. In the evening, transfer to the international airport. Departure transfer to onward destination.

– Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, road conditions, flight schedules and room availability.
– In case the government changes presently applicable taxes, increase in airlines prices, fuel surcharge our rates will need to be adjusted accordingly.
– In Asia, there is no relevance between the distance and time of travelling, as it depends upon the condition of the roads and congestion of the traffic.
– While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes etc that are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes.
– Clients must be fully insured, as the company cannot accept liability for loss or damage to client’s property, medical emergencies or any other loss suffered by them whilst on tour.
– In Case of issuing Domestic or International air tickets, SGV is not responsible for any refund if the flight is delayed or cancelled, as it is the responsibility of airline.
