Tanzania’s wilderness defies the imagination, its sweeping plains alive with giant creatures – and perhaps the closest thing on Earth to a true Garden of Eden. Snowcapped Kilimanjaro towers above dusty red savanna, flamingo-carpeted lakes abut thick green forests, and lush grass plains seemingly stretch on forever.
Day 01 Kilimanjaro – Arusha (By Road) (52 kms / 1H 12M appx.)
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to hotel in Arusha. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 Arusha-Tarangire NP-Lake Manyara (238 kms/4H 50M appx)
After breakfast, Proceed to first stop is in Arusha town, for any last minute purchases before we head off to our first national park of the safari – Tarangire National Park. We have lunch here before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is known for its huge population of elephants and distinctive baobab trees. It also forms the centre of the annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeests and 30,000 zebras. Overnight at Camp.
Day 03 Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, Proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive. This beautiful national park is positioned in the north western corner of Lake Manyara which is a soda lake that lies at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Manyara National Park is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos, but also for the elusive tree climbing lions. Overnight at Camp.
Day 04 Lake Manyara NP – Ngorongoro – Serengeti NP (154 kms/4H appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to we drive up along the Rift Valley escarpment towards the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. For many, this wildlife spectacle is the pinnacle of their safari experience. The Ngorongoro Crater boasts all of the ‘Big 5’, including a small population of endangered black rhino. After a picnic lunch, we head towards the Serengeti is best known for – the endless, undulated grass savannah with rocky outcrops that serve as isolated wildlife refuges. Later we head towards the Serengeti. Overnight at camp.
Day 05 Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, Proceed to today you will be spending a full day game driving around the Seronera area of the Serengeti. The Serengeti is divided into three main areas Seronera is the most central and accessible region and this is where the Park HQ is based, as well as most of the larger lodges and communal campsites. This part of the Serengeti is characterised by open plains of grassland, packed with animals. The Seronera River is the lifeblood of the Serengeti and this area is renowned for great game viewing all year round. It is also very good for big cat sightings like lion and cheetah and sometimes the elusive leopard. Overnight at camp.
Day 06 Serengeti NP – Lake Manyara NP (By Road) (101 kms / 1H 20M appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to today we retrace our steps with a morning game drive through the Serengeti followed by a picnic lunch, before continuing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In route we visit Olduvai Gorge. Overnight at lodge.
Day 07 Lake Manyara NP–Kilimanjaro(166 kms/4H appx)/Dep. Kilimanjaro
We head to Arusha where the tour will end. Departure transfer to onward destination.
