Madagascar is a country that occupies a large island of the same name, located in the Indian Ocean off the eastern coast of Africa. It is the fourth largest island in the world. Madagascar is famous for pepper, vanilla, and of course the lemurs. The country has six provinces (faritany) – Antananarivo, Antsiranana, Fianarantsoa, Mahajanga, Toamasina, and Toliara.

Day 01 Arrive Antananarivo
Arrival at Antananarivo, meet assist and transfer to hotel.Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Antananarivo – Antsirabe (By Road) (169 Kms / 03 hrs appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to Antsirabe through a landscape composed mainly of mountains and rice fields. Tour of the “Town of Water” – So called because of its numerous thermal springs and existence of two crater lakes. Visit of a workshop where they make miniatures from recycled materials. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Antsirabe – Ranomafana (By Road) (240 Kms / 05 hrs 30 min appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to Ranomafana – a national park of rainforest which is home to various species of lemurs such as the golden bamboo lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, chameleons, frogs. Stop in Ambositra for the visit of some Zafimaniry handicrafts centres: woodcarving Continuation to Ranomafana. After check-in at the hotel, Night walk along the road to see nocturnal species of animals. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Ranomafana – Fianarantsoa (By Road) (85 Kms / 01 hrs 30 min appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to the Park with its lemurs, chameleons, spiders, frogs, varieties of orchids and medicinal plants. After to Fianarantsoa – the capital of the Betsileo tribe. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 Fianarantsoa – Ranohira (By Road) (295 Kms / 05 hrs 30 min appx.)
Early departure Ranohira. Stop in Ambalavao – The commercial centre of the southern Betsileo region, renowned for its folks, arts and crafts – to visit a wine producer for wine tasting and the “Antemoro Paper” factory This paper is a delicate, handmade, flower-decorated paper made of the fibres of the tree called “Avoha”. After Ambalavao for visiting a small reserve to observe Ring-tailed Lemurs in their natural surroundings. Continuation to Ranohira. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 Ranohira
After breakfast, Procced to a whole day trekking inside the Isalo National Park to discover the massif of Isalo, its ruinlike sandstones, canyons, natural swimming pool and endemic fauna and flora. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 Ranohira – Tulear (By Road) (240 Kms / 04 hrs appx.)
After breakfast, Procced to Tuléar along a straight road. The landscape is composed of high bushes, thick gallery forests and some proudly decorated Mahafaly tombs. Visit of the Arboretum with many species of endemic plants of the deep south. overnight at hotel.

Day 08 Tulear – Antananarivo (By Flight)
After breakfast, Procced to Antananarivo. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09 Antananarivo – Morondava ( By flight)
After breakfast, Procced to Morondava. Meeting at airport and transfer to the city. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 Morondava-Kirind Reserve-Morondava (50 Kms/1H appx.-ONE WAY)
After breakfast , Procced to the Kirindy dry forest reserve with its lemurs, snakes, fossa etc. On the way back stop to admire the beauty of the famous Baobab Avenue during sunset. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11 Morondava – Antananarivo (By Flight)
After breakfast , Procced to Antananarivo. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12 Depart Antananarivo
Departure transfer to onward destination.

– In Asia, there is no relevance between the distance and time of travelling, as it depends upon the condition of the roads and congestion of the traffic.
– While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes etc that are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes.
– Clients must be fully insured, as the company cannot accept liability for loss or damage to client’s property, medical emergencies or any other loss suffered by them whilst on tour.
– In Case of issuing Domestic or International air tickets, SGV is not responsible for any refund if the flight is delayed or cancelled, as it is the responsibility of airline.
