The Republic of Armenia is situated in the southern part of the Caucasus between watersheds of middle streams of the Araks and Kura Rivers. The territory of the Republic is 29,800 sq. kilometres. It occupies the southern part of a vast highland area known as Armenian Upland, which is located within the Alpine-Himalayan mountain system. The average elevation of the Armenian Upland is 1,800 meters above sea level. Ancient geographers called the Armenian Upland the “Mountain Island” or the “Roof of Asia Minor”. In the structure of mountain ridges extinct volcanoes play an essential role.

Day 01 Arrive Yerevan
Arrival at Yerevan International Airport meet, assist and transfer to hotel. Later city tour in Yerevan, one of the oldest cities in the world, which is almost 2,800 years old. The tour will begin from the railway station square named in honor of David Sassoon, the hero of the medieval Armenian epic. Then, visit to Erebuni museum-reserve where you can see witnesses about the very ancient capital of Yerevan. The next point will be in Tsitsernakaberd- the Memorial of the Armenian Genocide and its Museum, where you will be told about a small part of the history of Armenia, which has completely changed the mainstream of life of the Armenians all over the world. From the heart of Yerevan – the Republic Square, we will take one of the central avenues of the city to move to the Cafesjian Center for the Arts which offers a wide variety of exhibitions of contemporary art. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Yerevan – Dilijan (By Road) (98 Kms / 01 hrs 30 min apprx.)
After breakfast, proceed to the day will begin with a visit to the pagan fortress of Garni (3 cent. BC.) at the edge of Azat river canyon, which is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will also see the Symphony of Stones, a splendid natural monument. Then, the tour will continue to Geghard or Ayrivank Monastery (10-13th cc.) partly carved in rocks with a unique acoustics in some parts. Next stop will be at Lake Sevan, which is the 2nd highest lake with fresh water in the world. After an excursion around the monastery Sevanavank (9th cent.) on Sevan peninsula you will surely enjoy the nature around the lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Dilijan – Haghpat (By Road) (83 Kms / 01 hrs 50 min apprx)
After breakfast, proceed to Acquaintance to the city of Dilijan. Afterwards we will move to the Monastery Haghartsin (10-13th cc.) and Monastery Goshavank (12-13th cc.), where the monk Gosh had composed the Code of Law in the 13th century. Then, we will have a little rest at Lake Parz and enjoy the incredible nature around it.Going to the village Haghpat. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Haghpat – Yerevan (By Road) (171 Kms / 03 hrs 10 min apprx)
After breakfast, proceed to visit the Haghpat Monastery (10-13th cc.). Tour in the city of Akhtala famous for its smelters and introduction to the history and architecture of the fortress and monastery complex of Akhtala (10-13th cc.). Then, passing through the town of Alaverdi, we will visit the monastery of Sanahin (10-13th cc.). Later we will head to the city of Aparan and return to Yerevan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 Yerevan – Shinuhayr (By Road) (233 Kms / 04 hrs apprx)
After breakfast, proceed to the ancient capital of Armenia Artashat built in 189 BC. We will visit then the monastery Khor Virap (4rd cent.) where Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for propagating Christianity in Armenia. Then we offer you to get acquainted with one of the oldest wine-producing centers, the village of Areni. From the village of Areni the road will lead us to the monastery of Noravank, built in 13-14th centuries by the famous miniaturist, sculptor and architect Momik. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 Shinuhayr – Yerevan (By Road) (233 Kms / 04 hrs apprx)
After breakfast, proceed to the tour will start from the visit of the village Halidzor from where we will take the longest ropeway in the world to go to Tatev Monastery Complex (9th cent.). After a great tour there, we will move to one of the oldest observatories in the world Karahunj (Armenian Stonehenge) which is almost 7500 years old. Return to Yerevan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 Yerevan
After breakfast, proceed to visit the historical and religious capital of Armenia – Vagharshapat (Echmiadzin) built in 120-336. We will see there the church St. Hripsime (12th cent.) and St. Holy Mother Cathedral, which is the 1st Christian church in the world built in 301 as well as the spiritual center of Armenia. Next visit is the residence of the Armenian Catholicos and the museum, then we will go to the Temple of Zvartnots (7th c.), the historical and cultural museum-reserve. All of these temple complexes are included in the UNESCO heritage list. Return to Yerevan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08 Depart Yerevan
Departure transfer to onward destination.
