Azerbaijan, the nation and former Soviet republic, is bounded by the Caspian Sea and Caucasus Mountains, which span Asia and Europe. Its capital, Baku, is famed for its medieval walled Inner City. Within the Inner City lies the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a royal retreat dating to the 15th century, and the centuries-old stone Maiden Tower, which dominates the city skyline.

Day 01 Arrive Baku
Arrive at Baku, meet assist and Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Baku-Absheron Peninsula – Baku (15 kms / 24M appx.-ONE WAY)
After breakfast, Proceed to Sightseeing in the “Old City” – medieval part of Baku “Shirvanshahs’ Palace” ancient quarter mosques (Mohammad’s mosque) bath, fragments of residential buildings, “Market Square”, “Bukhara” caravanserai, “Multani” caravanserai , “Gyz Galasi” (Maiden Tower) – the oldest construction of Baku under UNESCO protection . Visiting of Azerbaijan State Carpet and Applied Arts museum named after Latif Kerimov . After Lunch proceed to Sightseeing tour “Land of fires” “Ateshgah” Fire – Worshippers’ Temple in Surakhany settlement, medieval castle in Ramana settlement, survey of the oldest oil fields in Balakhani settlement, visiting “Yanardag”natural reserve (natural gas exit). Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Baku-Lahij-Gabala (579 kms / 7H appx.)
After breakfast, proceed to visiting ”Yeddi Gumbez” (Seven Domes) mausoleum complex near Shamakhy city. Photo stops on in the most picturesque places in the mountains. Arrival at Lahij mountain settlement of national handicraft. After Lunch, proceed to Panoramic tour to “Lahij ” Historical-Ethnographic reserve architectural monuments, handicrafts and manufacture of carpets, workshops and benches of handicraftsmen: braziers, smiths, chasers, metal engravers, ancient mosques, baths, and also original architecture of streets and apartment houses of the ancient mountain settlement. Continuation of the trip from Lahij to Gabala. Arrival to Gabala city. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Gabala-Sheki (89 kms / 1H 17M appx.)
After breakfast, proceed to the trip to Sheki via Gabala Nij settlement (Medieval Christian temple of Caucausian Albania-Chotari church after reconstruction. Arrival in Sheki, meet assist and transfer to hotel. After Lunch, proceed to Sightseeing program in Sheki (excursion and museums): – Visiting Sheki “East Market” – Panoramic view of Sheki city from the mountain – Survey of fortifications and caravanserais in the Old city Visiting History Museum Visiting “Sheki Khan’s palace”. Survey of the exposition of the National Applied Arts museum in the old round Christian temple and acquaintance with works of handicraftsmen on manufacture of stained- glass windows -“shebaka” in their workshops. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 Sheki – Ganja (145 kms / 1H  59M appx.)
After breakfast, proceed to Ganja meet assist and transfer to the hotel. After Lunch, proceed to program on Ganja city: historical-architectural complex in Ganja city centre (“Shah Abbas maschidi” a mosque, with two minarets. Madrasah / Muslim educational institution / and old caravanserai / the mausoleum of the last khan of Ganja “Javad khan” / medieval bath “Chokek Hamam” and others) Walking in the central square with fountains and “Sardar Baghi” park; – Visiting “Alexander Nevski” Christian Orthodox Church / Visiting “Agvan Kilsasi” Christian Temple/ Travel to Goy-gol city (vicinities of Ganja, 12 km. far from Ganja city) Excursion program in the former German colony of Helenendorf: – Acquaintance with architecture of ancient apartment houses and public buildings of the former colonists- settlers from Baden-Wurttemberg province / Survey of Lutheran Kirkha / (now a local historical museum) Returning to Ganja city. Visiting «Imam-Zada» Muslim memorial-cult complex and “Central City Market” (East Bazaar) After Dinner,Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 Ganja-Gobustan-Baku (367 kms / 4H 45M appx.)
After breakfast, proceed to Ganja city: – Survey of the medieval fortress gate copy of the city; – Mausoleum of the famous medieval poet and philosopher Nizami Ganjavi On the way to Baku After lunch, Visit to Gobustan National Historical – Artist Preserve Acquaintance with archaeological exposition of the museum, lifestyle of ancient people of “Stone Age” .Survey of Gobustan petroglyphs. Arrival to Baku, meet assist and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 Depart Baku
Departure transfer to onward destination.

– In Asia, there is no relevance between the distance and time of travelling, as it depends upon the condition of the roads and congestion of the traffic.
– While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes etc that are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes.
