Your Himalayan hiking experience will begin with a short drive of around 30 minutes to the Sarangkot viewpoint which is without a doubt one of the best in the area for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, as well as of Pokhara and Phewa Lake. Early risers might consider departing their hotel before dawn in time to watch the truly breath taking sun rise from Sarangkot. Once you have had an opportunity to take in the beautiful Himalayan vista you will begin you 4-5 hour walk through the forested hills to Naudanda, most of which is downhill. The first section of the walk will take you to the small mountain village of Maula, where you will find a path that leads up to Kasikot. Once the seat of power in the region during the days before a united Nepal, Kasikot now offers stunning views of the Pokhara Valley and the Himalayan mountains beyond. From Kasikot you will continue to wind your way through ancient woodland towards Naudanda, passing through traditional villages and taking in the awesome Himalayas as you go.
Although this Himalayan hike is only for one day, it enables you to enter into the world of the Himalayan people and to observe the high mountains in all their glory. If however, you would like a slightly longer experience we do also offer several other trekking experiences in the region.
